CLEVELAND, OH (August 30, 2008) - Case Western Reserve University senior Dominic Smith (New Richmond, OH-pictured) placed first [26.25.50] out of 130 runners as the Spartan men’s cross country team won [28 points] the eight-team Bill Sudeck Classic [8k] this afternoon at the Valleevue and Valley Ridge Farms in Hunting Valley, Ohio.

Case Western Reserve, who placed first at the Sudeck Classic for the first time since 2003, had four runners finish in the top ten.  Junior Austin Schmidt (Lexington, OH) placed third [26.51.00], sophomore Reza Mohammadpour (Mayfield, OH) finished seventh [27:10.00] and senior Ryan Gjoraas (Plymouth, MN) rounded out the Spartan’s top ten at ninth [27.21.00].

Case Western Reserve will host its annual Alumni Meet at The Farm September 13 and then return to action September 20 at Calvin College.
